In addition to interfacing with the SCCVB Board of Directors, the Illinois Bureau of Tourism and City of St. Charles officials, Amy represents St. Charles as a member of the Illinois Council of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and serves on the marketing committee of ChicagoPlus, a regional tourism development office serving the Chicago suburbs. She oversees the bureau's annual budget of just under one million dollars and directs all sales and marketing initiatives waged by the bureau in its mission to promote St. Charles as a destination for leisure visits, meetings, conventions, motorcoach trips, and sports events. A graduate of Pennyslvania's Elizabethtown College with a BA in Communication Arts, Amy brought 18 years' experience in Illinois' hospitality industry when she joined the SCCVB team in October 2005. Six tourism marketing projects conceived and executed by Amy (including the 2008 SCCVB Visitors Guide) have received "Best of" awards at the annual Illinois' Governor's Conference on Tourism.

Kathy Loubsky , Associate Director

Kathy has worked with the SCCVB since 1992 and served as its Executive Director from 1997-2008.  As Associate Director, Kathy produces the award-winning Annual Scarecrow Festival, held every October on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend. 60,000 people attend the city-wide event that has twice been named one of the top 100 events by the American Bus Association. Kathy also oversees leisure tourism marketing and serves as the Bureau representative for local tourism awareness outreach projects.

Jenny O'Brien, Sales Manager

Jenny joined the SCCVB sales team in October 2006 to serve the motorcoach market and since then has added the sports market to her list of responsibilities. Jenny's previous experience as a meeting planner enabled her to hit the ground running in selling St. Charles as a destination. Jenny is particularly astute in customizing itineraries to suit affinity and student groups. Holding a communications degree from Illinois State University, Jenny also provides support for Bureau marketing initiatives, including creation of its annual coupon book and website development.

Michelle is the most recent addition to the SCCVB, having joined our team in May 2009 as a part time sales manager.

Michelle brings significant experience to the position, having worked both in hotels and the convention & visitors bureau realm, and enthusiasm in building relationships with planners as well as suppliers to ensure "win win" events.When focusing on the Bureau's mission, Michelle's primary concentration is on the association, religious and corporate markets. During her "down time," she partners with husband, Kevin, in rearing their two children.

She has been a MPI member - having been selected as co-chair for the annual MPI-CAC Golf Outing following her long-standing involvement with the event's coordination. As a testament to her MPI service, Michelle was nominated for the MPI CAC Rising Star Award. Michelle attended Loop College and Loyola University prior to entering her chosen vocation of hospitality sales.

With a B.S. degree in business administration (Cum Laude, no less!) and eight years' hospitality experience (four in St. Charles), DeAnn's decision to join the SCCVB staff has been much welcomed by our staff. DeAnn oversees the operations of the office, with responsibilities ranging from in-house accounting procedures to ensuring that state grant requirements are being met to being first point of contact for our technology needs.

Well-respected throughout the local tourism community, Diane worked at Pheasant Run Resort for more than 30 years before joining the SCCVB team. Diane makes certain all events and hotel package information is current and posted on www.visitstcharles.com and sent on to the Illinois Bureau of Tourism for state-wide promotion. Diane also provides servicing and coordinates temporary staffing for meetings and conventions held in St. Charles.

Melissa Oehlerking, Assistant Coordinator - Scarecrow Festival

St. Charles native Melissa Oehlerking is the Assistant Coordinator for our annual Scarecrow Festival. Currently working along side Kathy Loubsky - Associate Director and Scarecrow Festival Coordinator (AND Melissa's mom!), Melissa has been an integral part of the Scarecrow workforce for the past eight years. While she, as does Kathy, wears a multitude of hats to pull of a festival that is bigger and better each year, Melissa's primary responsibilities are solicitation and coordination of the fest's entertainment and every food and vendor booth. (A bit of Scarecrow trivia...Melissa's son, Dylan, is featured in many of the festival's promotional photos...and little sister, Callie, is soon to be featured as well!)
