What Does the St. Charles Visitors Bureau Do?

04/21/2007 - Established in 1983 as one of the first 21 CVB's to be certified by the State of Illinois, the St. Charles Visitors Bureau promotes our community as a destination for meeting & conventions, motorcoach tours, sporting events and leisure getaways in order to enhance the economic impact to St. Charles through visitor spending and hotel guest room consumption.

The Bureau's service area includes the City of St. Charles, St. Charles and Campton Townships.

The Bureau is partially funded by the Illinois Bureau of Tourism and by a portion of the local hotel/motel tax collected by the City of St. Charles. The Bureau generates a small percentage of revenue through advertising sales and cooperative endeavors.

A sales and marketing organization, the Bureau employs a staff of professionals who create and distribute marketing materials and who tqarget specific market niches in order to identify potential pieces of group overnight stays to support the sales initiatives of the 11 lodging and meeting facilities of St. Charles.
