Published 08/15/2017

For the first time in its history, the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau will attend this year’s Illinois State Fair, being held August 10-20, 2017 in Springfield, Illinois. This attendance takes place at the invitation of the Illinois of Office of Tourism. The GSCCVB will be featured in the Agritourism tent at the Fair, with an opportunity to promote not only the rich number of sustainable farms and attractions in its countryside, but the whole destination as well.

The GSCCVB has taken the display theme of “Authentically St. Charles, Illinois” and will be promoting and displaying a plethora of items made and sold only in this area. Partners donating display items include Abby’s Breakfast and Lunch, Bespoke Sentiments, Corron Farm, The Finery and Blacksmith Restaurant, Garfield Farm Museum, Heritage Prairie Farm, Hotel Baker, Pure Essentials, St. Charles Park District, Stitched and Wrapped, and Two Wild Seeds Bakery.

The GSCCVB will also debut its new 2017-18 Visitors Guide, promote the upcoming 32nd annual Scarecrow Fest and announce the inaugural St. Charles Scarecrow Fest Farm Tour, which will take place during Scarecrow Fest weekend - October 6-8, 2017.

The GSCCVB is funded by the Illinois Office of Tourism and a portion of the hotel/motel tax collected by the City of St. Charles hotels to promote the Greater St. Charles area as a destination for leisure tourists, conventions, sports events, and meetings.
